Mentawai Island

In life, some of the most memorable experiences are the simplest ones.

With deep respect for the Mentawaian people, their traditions, and their land, this remote corner of the world offers experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

HOW TO GET HERE

The Mentawai Islands are a remote archipelago located off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. While getting here requires a few steps, the journey is part of the adventure — and with the right support, it’s straightforward and well organized.

1.Fly to Padang (West Sumatra)

International travelers usually connect through Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur, then fly onward to Padang (PDG).

Most guests arrive in Padang the day before continuing to the Mentawai Islands.

2.Continue to Sipora Island (Mentawai)

From Padang, there are two main ways to reach Sipora Island:

  • Option A — Mentawai Fast Ferry
The Mentawai Fast Ferry runs between Padang and Tua Pejat (Sipora Island) on days of the week listed bellow. All transfers from the airport to the ferry are included. The crossing takes approximately 3.5 hours.
Ferry departs at 7am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at 10am on Sundays.
  • Option B — Domestic Flight to Sipora
A short domestic flight connects Padang to Rokot Airport (Sipora Island). This option is faster but operates on limited days and has restrictions on surfboards.

3.Arrival & Resort Transfer

Once on Sipora Island harbour, guests will be greeted by our staff and transferred to the resort, less than 10 minutes away.
